Arthur Wint was raised in service, and he often helped charitable organisations to raise funds. The following are just a sample of his activities, and others will likely identify other instances.

  • He helped raise funds for a Children's Ward at Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, Hanover
  • He was a founder and member of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce
  • Founder and President of the Hanover Garden Club
  • He was the founder of the Hanover Parish Choir
  • He was the member of one school Board and Chairmen of another
  • He served on the Board of the Negril Land Authority
  • He raised funds for the building of a Basic School - this now bears his name and is operated by the Salvation Army
  • Member, then President of the Hanover Charities Organisation
  • He was Chief Track Referee at the 1966 Commonwealth Games, hosted in Kingston, Jamaica

Arthur was all for family...and his humility, and his sense of service...Those were his beacons in his life.
